Our Heroine’s First Attempt at Vendoring: A Guide for First Time Vendors

I know vendoring isn’t the correct word, but for the sake of this title it is.

IMG_2367You may or may not have noticed that I have been missing this week. If you have, I’m flattered! If you haven’t, well I didn’t expect you to any way. The reason for my absence though was that I was a vendor on Friday for a local Star Wars event. You may have seen my Etsy shop. If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, click here or on the Store in the menu on the right side.  When the opportunity to become vendors came, we decided to give it a go and see what happened. Since it was our first time, we were exceptionally busy this week getting everything ready. Continue reading “Our Heroine’s First Attempt at Vendoring: A Guide for First Time Vendors”

Launching the Store!

And it’s now official! I feel that there are enough products to finally and formally promote the Of Books and Bailey shop, hosted via Etsy. There is a link all the way to the right in the menu bar, or you can simply click here. The designs are by me, and we are currently featuring products inspired by books, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Sherlock, and the Hunger Games. We’ll have more added later this month! Continue reading “Launching the Store!”

Upon Rewatching The Force Awakens

Why does this film have to be so good? It’s tormenting. It’s wonderful. It’s downright sadistic to the Star Wars lover.

True to form, Mr. McGinnis and I pre-ordered the blu-ray, and it arrived promptly on Tuesday. We waited patiently throughout the day for the family to gather so we could finally watch it once more. Each time I watch it, the wheels in my head spin anew with unprecedented thoughts and theories. This time was no different so expect me to broach the subject again shortly, and I pray that it doesn’t annoy. Continue reading “Upon Rewatching The Force Awakens”

I didn’t write yesterday, but that’s okay because instead I get the opportunity to write on International Women’s Day! And I thought, why not celebrate? So without further ado, here are some of the most awesome, bad-a, butt-kicking, powerful females in renowned literature, film, tv, and music! In my humble opinion and in no particular order: Continue reading “Top 20 Pop Culture Females”

V-Day: The Date that Got Nerdier than Originally Intended

Valentine’s Day gets a lot of flack. True, I hate the commercialization of it. And the ignorant, romantic teenage version of myself thought it was stupid. Why do we need a day to celebrate love? Shouldn’t we celebrate love all the time? Yes, teenage Bailey, we should. But now that I’m an adult with a child who takes a fair bit of our time and money, I’ve realized that Valentine’s Day is just a wonderful excuse to spend some money for gifts and have some quality time alone as a couple. My First World Boss: The Story of How I Became a Gamer

It’s a good day. I got my bangs trimmed, my roots recolored, I’m hanging out in my new Star Wars Yoga pants, Oliver’s yoda costume came. Yeah, I’m pretty much over the moon right now.

The Force is strong in our family. And to top things off, while I was at the salon, Taylor caught up to my Jedi on SWTOR! Continue reading “My First World Boss: The Story of How I Became a Gamer”

Star Wars: The Questions Awaken

Spoilers ahead! DUH!

The Force Awakens is destroying box offices left and right, and I cannot begin to say how much I enjoyed it. The first time I saw it, I was in awe. That was Empire good! Honestly, it was one of the few movies I saw this year, where upon my first viewing, I could sit back and simply enjoy it. I was purely entertained and left the theorizing, the nitpicking, and the deep analyzing until after the movie. The second time, I wished I had a notebook and pen with me so I could vigorously write down notes and ideas. Continue reading “Star Wars: The Questions Awaken”
