Vamping & Hiking

Notice anything different? Yes, the blog has changed! With the opening of the GG store, I decided to vamp the whole blog because the previous layout wasn’t working for me. Speaking of the store, I will “officially” be opening shop on Monday. Stay tuned because I will be posting a coupon code for our grand opening on Etsy.

I will give you one more sneak peek here:

Today we decided as a family to taking our geeking elsewhere away from the computer. We ended up going outside in nature and taking a short hike now that the weather is clearing up. We had Oliver of course and my baby brother,  Ledger, whom we were babysitting, and took them along for the ride. It left each of us pushing a stroller and getting a good workout, especially when I pushed Ledger, who weighs 30lbs, uphill in an umbrella stroller.

It’s actually the lightest umbrella stroller in the world and I super recommend it. Both Oliver and Ledger have one. It’s called the Urbini Hummingbird.

The trail was called a nature walk, but we didn’t see any nature besides some trees. To be honest though, the hike was a little eerie. When I’m out in the woods, I expect it to be teeming with life! The rustle of a bird’s wings, the flicker of movement out of the corner of your eye. This place was none of that. It was dead. Not a squirrel or a bird or a hint of life. The absence made the walk feel ominous and foreboding. It wasn’t until we reached the end of the trail and getting ready to leave that we saw a butterfly flitting across the dead grass. It seemed a like a sign, the promise and hope of what was to come when winter ends and spring begins.

  1. Love the photos! They’re a gorgeous addition to the piece 🙂 How sad that you didn’t see any animals while you were out — I guess that’s what happens in winter!

    Thanks for sharing!
